Please Carefully Read the Reimbursement Eligibility:

Reimbursable Expenses:

  • Travel expenses for air, train and bus transportation are reimbursed when the internship position is based in a location that is not considered the intern's permanent residence and is required to seek alternative housing accommodations. Only arrival and departure trips at the beginning and end of the internship will be reimbursed.
  • Housing expenses are reimbursed when the intern is required to relocate due to the location of the internship position. If the intern is not required to relocate, housing expenses are not reimbursed. It is highly encouraged to consider affordable, cost-conscious housing options (i.e. room sharing, subletting, etc.). Please reach out to your employer for affordable recommendations prior to securing accommodations. Please note, reimbursement will only cover a maximum of three months regardless of the internship duration.

Non-Reimbursable Expenses:

  • Additional housing expenses such as utilities: gas, electric, water, internet, cable, parking, etc.
  • Daily travel expenses such as train, bus fare and parking fees
  • First class/business fare tickets
  • Food, clothing and personal care items
  • Spouse/dependent/family member expenses
  • Renter's insurance
  • Any other costs incurred during internship

Required Documentation:

In order to meet the reimbursement qualifications, please submit the following documents in addition to the completed application. Review the above guidelines to ensure the expenses meet qualifications. No exceptions will be considered.

  • Travel expenses: Official receipt(s) of travel with payment confirmation, itinerary and dates of travel
  • Housing expenses: Signed lease or official housing receipt (tenant must be intern's name) with payment confirmation and dates of stay. The reimbursement is intended to fund the intern's portion of the housing cost in the circumstance of shared housing.
